Please be aware that all medications need to be administered in the nurse's office between 9AM and 1PM. It is strongly advised that that medications be prescribed at times other than the school day whenever possible.The following procedure must be followed when your child is prescribed a medication for a short time or 'as needed' during the school day ie: antibiotic, cough and cold medication, rescue inhaler, Epipen, etc.- Signed parent permission form or a signed note from the parent/guardian with instructions including time, dose and circumstances under which the medication is to be administered by the nurse.
- The medication must be brought into school in its original container with the prescription label on the container (the pharmacist will give you an extra medication container for school if you ask for one).
- Over the counter medication must be in the original container.
- Permission must be renewed for each school year.
Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, or Tums may be given with parental permission to children for pain or fever. Form is at Nurse's Office web sight under 'Non Prescription Medication Permission Slip".
