Alright parents, we made it to October.
1. Time to start applying now for high schools. Please visit the website of the high school you wish to apply to and begin the process.
Please put me down as a recommendation. Just be sure you input my email correctly. I will always email you when I have completed your child's recommendation. If you do not hear from me, then I did not get that email for the recommendation request from the high school.
2. All students need to complete 10 hours of volunteer/service work within the school by May 1. Many have already hit the 10 hours, but Mr. Lane has told them who ever has the most hours by May 1, will get a free lunch with him.
3. We have a half day on Friday, October 6. Dismissal is at 11:20. No school on Monday, October 9th.
4. Mass on Friday, October 13. Students report directly to church by 7:50. Full day that day.
5. All 8th graders should report to Malden Catholic on Thursday, October 19th for the Cheverus only shadow day. All students told me and Mr. O'Neil they would be attending so he and I expect all students at MC that day. You should have received an email from him to sign up. If you did not, please reach out to me.
6. There is no school on Friday, October 20 due to a teacher professional development day.
7. Trunk or Treat is happening on Sunday, October 22. Great opportunity for kids to get service hours by volunteering at it. More information to come on that.
8. Lastly, I have officially signed up for our popcorn fundraiser. I will be sending more information on that at the end of the month. Students will need their phones to set up their online store with me here at school. It's safe, quick and easy. I will walk them through each step. This is the biggest fundraiser for Washington, D.C. Remember a non refundable $200 deposit is due October 30th.
