A few 2010-2011 Notes…

School Notices

This is one of the last paper notices you will receive this year. All our notices will be sent home by email. Please be sure we have your correct email address. Notices will also be posted at cheverusschool.com.

Rainy Days

On stormy days the students meet in the gym. The gym doors are opened at 7:30 a.m. At 7:45 a.m. classes begin to file. If you arrive after 7:45 a.m. you should enter through the main entrance near Irving Street.

Tuesday Morning Prayer

Tuesday morning prayer services will resume in the spring.

Lunch Program

A lunch calendar is emailed home each month. We use a pay ahead only system. Don’t forget to fill out a Free and Reduced lunch application.

CORI Forms

In order to volunteer at any time during the school year you must have completed a CORI (criminal background check) form. It takes the minimum of a month to process these forms. CORI forms are available in the school office and may be filled out after September 15th. This must be filled out in person and a valid ID must be shown when submitting the form.

As we begin 2010 it is time to start planning for the next school year. Registration for currently enrolled Cheverus families takes place January 6th through the 8th. Registration forms are available online or in the school office. Open registration for new families will be held during Catholic Schools Week. Please do not delay registering for next year. If you do not register prior to open registration, a place will not be held for your child(ren).

There is a new feature on our school web site. We now have the ability to accept online donations. So tell your friends, grandparents, aunts and uncles it is very easy to give to Cheverus. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps!

The students at Cheverus School are very fortunate to belong to such a caring, supportive community.  Obviously they are here because you, the parents, believe in Catholic education, and that Cheverus School is the best place for your child to receive that quality education. In order to foster a community atmosphere parent involvement is essential. We are very blessed to have so many parents willing to volunteer. The Parents In Action (P.I.A.), the Cheverus School parent organization, has some wonderful parents leading the organization. Yet their responsibility is to organize. They need the support of all Cheverus School parents to be successful. The P.I. A. (Parents In Action) is not just a few parents, it is all parents.
